New England equaled their longest winning run from the Brady era as they defeated division rivals the New York Jets by 13 points in professional football

First-year standout TreVeyon Henderson was the standout with three TDs as the New England squad claimed an eight-game winning streak for the first time since legendary quarterback Brady's last year with the team in the 2019 season

Quarterback Maye threw for 281 passing yards and a score, connecting on 25 passes from 34 throws

Victory extends the Patriots advantage at the summit of the division as they advanced to nine wins and two defeats, with the New York bottom after slipping to a 2-8 mark

The Jets had taken the lead at their home field with QB Fields rushing for a five-yard touchdown to cap the New York's first possession

But the Patriots fought back in the second quarter as the rookie ran in two short rushing scores before the ball carrier hauled in a throw from Maye at the back of the endzone halfway into the third quarter to push the score to 21-7

"It was a big time for him rising to the challenge, and it's been fantastic for him to keep getting these reps," the quarterback said of Henderson. "He desires to be excellent."

Justin Fields threw to John Metchie in the latter part of the third period to narrow the deficit for the Jets but Andy Borregales booted a two kicks in the final period as the Patriots wrapped up the victory
